ActInSpace

Registration for ActInSpace® (actinspace.org), the most important international competition dedicated to space applications, is already underway. The event will take place on the 13th and 14th of November in 84 cities around the world simultaneously and the participants will have 24 hours to develop innovative solutions that respond to the challenges launched by the organisation. Those interested can now register at https://actinspace.org/register and choose the most attractive challenge. The initiative, coordinated by the French Space Agency (AEF), the European Space Agency (ESA) and Aerospace Valley, is promoted in Portugal by the Pedro Nunes Institute – through ESA Space Solutions Center Portugal – and this year has the great collaboration of the INFANTE project, the first satellite from Portuguese industry .

Participants will have the support of mentors, professionals in the areas of business management, business creation and technological innovation, as well as technical experts. In the Portuguese edition of 2020, which will take place entirely online, the INFANTE project, a satellite for maritime applications and communications based on constellations, is a key partner. This year’s edition of the competition thus promises to win the attention of those who are interested in the terrestrial applications of space technologies, as well as in the infrastructures that enable space to facilitate our daily lives.

The winning Portuguese team will dispute the first place in the international final that will take place on February 24th and 25th, in Toulouse, France. This trip is part of the Act In Space 2020 award in Portugal. Teams with the most promising ideas will also receive support from ESA Incubation Centers and their partners so that they can accelerate their projects.
